For removing the brain, nothing works better than a pressure washer! But can get messy so wear appropriate clothing...

    Re: Moose euro mount

I recently spoke to a taxidermist ( here in Delta ) about this as I told him I have a nice rack from 3 seasons ago and just did not have time ( built a house ) to pay it some proper attention.
so I enquired about getting the rack mounted on a plaque, and he said you want a Euro mount, or a the bone wrapped in a leather cover.
I said I’ve cut the rack out of the skull and it’s too late for a Euro mount. There is a good chunk of bone between each antler .
he said He could measure the distance in detail between the antler bases and cut the antlers off the bone and order a plastic Euro mount skull and install the antlers on the Plastic skull and done, there is your Euro mount.
The plastic skull was worth ~$250-$300 depending on the size, plus his time to do the work, and your around $600

    hope that helps
