    Clearwater Predators

Hi all, looking ahead to the first week of September for youth any buck season, and some predator hunting. The area we were planning to go, sort of south of Bonaparte Lake, will be closed.

I'm still hoping to get a wolf and was wondering if we stay in Clearwater if we'll have any chance at calling one in. Ihunter seems to show lots of crown land around there. Curious what people's thoughts are hunting the surrounding area in terms of access / crown land/ smoke / etc.

If anyone knows of any other place within 6-7 hours of Tswassen we should try, that would be great too.

    Thanks
When in doubt, just pin it.

Unfortunately there's no early season for youth here on the island.

Even a coyote would be good to see. We don't have them on the island.

As mentioned the EK may be a better bet, but hides wont be that great early, you could go in nov and find the youth a whitetail and
have a chance for a coyote or wolf if you decide to could suggest a few spots.

Thanks, much appreciated for the offer. I've never been to the kootenays. When people refer to the EK, which towns /areas are they usually referring to

Cranbrook area is probable around center but could be any where from north of golden to alberta border past fernie and states border on south side. Each part can have its plus and minuses.
You should be able to get the young ones a deer in the early youth season but as mentioned hides wont be as good on the fur bearers. You could also make a winter trip for them if thats
    what you would really like.

Looks like Clearwater is getting some rain, which is great.

Ihunter seems to show lots of crown land within an easy drive. Anyone been hunting out that way? Always curious about access when trying out a new area.
