    Kitimat...

Just returned from salmon fishing on the Kitimat River.
Great fishing for pinks, but the chum and springs were not there yet.

Nice fish. At least the river is open to fishing.
I wonder what will happen with southern rivers this fall.
We haven't had a decent pink run in 3 cycles almost.

Pinks on a flyrod can be fun for a day or so, but if you're trying to target other species they can be a nuisance.

Their not bad smoked or canned too!

I convinced my fishing mate that instead of throwing them into the "live well" to die that we should instead gut em and throw em into a big cooler of ice....made a huge difference come time to eat them...they were fine table fare...

Did an earthquake just happened in the Kitimat area?
The USGS reported a 6.5 quake at 15 K depth and soon after deleted.
    Anyone from Kitimat can confirm?
