Seeking recommendations - taxidermist - bear rug.

I got a small bear this year. The hide looks to be in really nice shape. I'm interested in a rug for my son and have no idea where to start. I can google up taxidermists but prefer to go to someone who is recommended. If you don't want to post comments (pro or con) - feel free to PM me.

Hide is in Kamloops area but I go back and forth between Kamloops and Vancouver.

I rolled the hide up inside out, put it in a garbage bag, and put it in the freezer.

    Cheers,

is it frozen yet? should have fur out, roll from tail to head on top. As the head takes longer to thaw out

I was just at Ray's place yesterday, the shop tells me he's more than popular. And in Merritt is more than handy!
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!

try to avoid rolling it up like that, it stays warm in core and hair can slip. Best to try to freeze as flat as possible. Call Ray Wiens he can explain what’s best from his perspective. Best taxi in BC IMO

Hmm not all taxidermist are specialists in every species...there are Great sheep taxidermists..who may not specialize in bear rugs..or in fish reproductions or birds..or cougars..or deer
I highly recomend Stephen for bears..hmm for cougars..I like Marco Pilot in Red Deer..for sheep Harley white in Westbank
Seen a LOT of bears and bear rugs..just my personal observation from several bears Mr. Rutherford has done up for me,familly, friends clients...
