Carolin Mine Road or Sumallo FSR or ??????

Hello All,
I know the consensus is to just forego the travel restrictions, but I have come to the decision that while I don’t agree with the restrictions I will honour them. I want to take my 11 year old son out, so I need a place in our region. I would prefer to go the Hope direction. I need a place to set up our tent trailer and then we can quad wherever. If you don’t want to post publicly you can message me. Just hoping to do some hiking and see some bears. Was looking at Carolin Mine Road and Sumallo FSR. Never been in either area. Thanks

Last time I drove by (couple weeks ago) there was still a gate that appeared to be closed. Maybe that has changed, so you might want to confirm that. That being said, I've seen lots of bears all around that area. Keep in mind, there might be lots of other campers and people quadding all over that area too; definitely on other side of the river too - so go early if you can to find a spot to setup. Busy area, but there are bears there if you can get away from everyone. I found they avoid the heavy traffic/high activity spots in that area.

There is a few areas you can go from hope to the summit. Falls lake is the last area you can exit before the toll plaza and still be in reg 2

Just to clarify, if you are coming from WEST of Hope, you enter the "Interior / North Travel Zone" just before you hit the suburbs of Hope so you are outside of the Lower Mainland / Fraser Zone. Hope was moved from Fraser awhile ago.
Now, to date there have not been any roadblocks before the old Toll Booth on the COQ or Manning Park Lodge on #3 so the odds of being stopped are slim to none so it might all be moot but if one really wants to "honour" the restrictions ya can't go there.
Not saying "don't do it", just stating what the rules say.
BTW, don't expect the RCMP to know this, we had to tell the RCMP Officer at the Manning Park Road Check that we were legit as we live in Hope.
