Travelling to the island for the long weekend

Anyone gonna try travelling to the island for the long weekend.
I got a re-re of some kitchen cabinets for a friend and am hoping that is enough excuse for them to let me pass.
also hoping to get 1-2 days in looking for a big black .
anyone know if they are planning on stopping and asking before the ferry terminal.

UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL POST, I CHOSE TO NOT GO AND HUNG AROUND HOME, HUNTED A DAY NORTH OF SQUAMISH.

I guess you could try and take your chances but delivering cabinets is not deemed as essential. Just be prepared that you may be turned away.

    I’m not delivering cabinets
He is renovating his house, I’m taking the kitchen fully apart
    storing cabinets in his garage
then reinstalling in about a months time.

they asked us when leaving the island.... we just drove up..... but on our way over to the island, they did not ask us in horseshoe bay (wife reserved sailing so not sure what was asked on line?)….business is a legit reason to travel...so is work...so is getting home

You are good to go travelling for work or volunteer work is essential so if your volunteering and not getting paid to help your friend you're good to go

Try your luck but don't have a poopy diaper if you're turned away. What happens if you're pulled over while "looking for a big black"...

That's not an excuse I had a letter from a farmer friend in the OK. I was going to see and do some wrenching for. Not an essential service. Other people in the zone can do the job. Expect a fine if caught, lots of checks going on over here

My friend just towed his boat over as he's heading to Nootka for the long weekend, no issues!

I know two groups that hauled their camping and hunting gear across yesterday and today and will be enjoying some hunting and fishing on the island... ymmv

Just keep your disease ridden lowermainlader tourists out of the interior and your good to go.
