There is a ton of science that also disputes this theory and in fact shows farmed salmon have no detrimental effects on wild fish. This story is the same type of story that anti gun groups and anti hunting groups use to try and destroy what we enjoy. I am going to take a hard pass on this.

No it can't be, so the fish farmers would tell you.
    Their science says so.

Care to enlighten us as to which farm you work for?

Denying peer reviewed and published science is a fool's errand. Period.
You will note that the support structure for the farms is sputteringly furious over this latest development, yet are providing ZERO conflicting evidence or science to decry it.

IMO the facts are quite evident in this case, and are largely undeniable except among those who have a reason to support this utter foolishness.

NEVER follow the science. Follow the money, and know that anything said by someone with a financial gain is likely false.

    Science changed along with society.
Long time ago, when you didn't need money (or a lot of it) to live you could be a mad scientist and care only about the science itself.
Today, when everyone chases the almighty dollar, scientists have to do the same I guess.
Sometime in the mid 20th century it started to matter who funds your research.
So much of early research is funded publicly, and then transfered to private hands.
Lots of university research these days is funded by public money and then when they actually discover something that can be monetized it's transfered to the private sector.
Lots of medical research is done by university students, and then the pills are sold by big pharma.

We all know it is a breeding ground for viruses.
So why would we want to risk wild or natural running stocks to this exposure??

If humans had this breeding ground of viruses present near them, and worried about catching it, we would never allow it.
    They have got to go.
