Marine or land based? How far back? You can get past 24 hours from any marine light or buoy from the web site. Longer than that(land and sea) is available on Environment Canada web site.https://weather.gc.ca/index_e.htmlc

Type in Pacific coast marine weather. A map will come up showing the coast in the different weather areas. Near the top of the page click on Weather Information. Scroll down to past weather. Never used it but looks like it goes back a ways. Don't know why the link won't work.

You can try the Weather Canada's Historical Climate Data. It's hit and miss since weather plots come and go plus they'd like to sell you the data.

You should try it. I was able to get hourly reports for Comox for June 5th 1990 and also Williams Lake. Worth a look. There is an instructional pamphlet you can print that walks you through it

this worked well, just had to go with the closest weather plot, looks like the one i’m after hasn’t been collecting data for 20 years.

Smithers, BC - 7 Day Forecast - Environment Canada (weather.gc.ca)
I chose Smithers as an example. You can use any weather station from Environment Canada
when you open this page, scroll down until you see the heading "Yesterday's Data" on the right side of the heading is a link to Historical data. You can call up different months and years. It has wind speed and direction in the data set.

You want to look at Ventusky
I have a favourite hill to hunt, but conditions have to be just right for favourable wind or an approach is pointless
Ventusky shows the local air flows, not sure how they get the modelling right but is usually spot on if the wind stays true long enough
I'd never considered the historic picture until this thread , but looking at the site and it allows one to pick any date and up it comes

Yes Ventusky is awesome! Another good one is Wunderground
