x2 Silky. I got the Silky Big Boy last year and it's cleared the trail when needed... I don't want to carry around a chainsaw on the quad.

Used a Gomboy for years. Replacement blades are way too expensive. Switched to a Sthil hand saw. Cheaper and lighter (2 ounces).
Can buy replacement blades for it. Cuts well.

The Silky saws are nice. I’ve carried a Fiskars slide out saw in my sledding and hunting pack for over 20 years. It’s cut down a lot of trees in its day. It was less than $20 at CT.
If we’re not supposed to eat animals, how come they’re made out of meat?

WE actually have a sponsor of the site that is local to the lower mainland. I bought a silky last fall from amazon just before he showed up. His was cheaper LOL

Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!

I have Bahco Laplander. Not as nicely built as the Silky, but very light and a bit cheaper. KMS Tools carries a bunch, including Silky and Bahco.

I've gone through a few and settled on a Silky Accel 210. Aluminum frame and the same weight as the pocketboy 170 but with a more usable blade length. Also, the kerf is slightly thicker (stronger blade) on the Accel 210. I've snapped the tip on a pocketboy but not the Accel. I have a large tooth blade and carry a spare fine tooth in my kill kit if I need to use it on bone or as a backup if I snap the large tooth blade.

Edit to add: If you're really weight conscious, you can buy just a replacement blade for a fixed-blade saw. Wrap the handle in paracord and the whole thing weighs something like 4 oz!

This^^^^. I have two - one with a medium for cutting branches/trees and fine blade for bone. Great saw.
