All right I've resorted to the use of gimmicks to aid me. I purchased a deer call years ago (when I was a resident of Ontario) for White tails. never used it as we just pushed bush with dogs and big gangs. Havent tried it in the field but I've recently been practicing at home. It has a buck grunt, doe bleat and fawn bleat. Do these work for Blackie and Mulies or is it more of a whitey thing.
Anyone use them with any success?

'Gimmicks' may be the wrong search word, but there sure are a lot of items being sold 'that every successful hunter needs'.
Calls may fall in the 'tools' section, and have their use, at the right time. Wrong time or place, you might as well be farting in the wind. Trying to sound like a buck in the right mood, at the right time, is harder than sounding like does/fawns chatting. YMMV
