We used to go out at the beginning of March every year (if the ice was off or just about off) and always got our limits of kokanee. March is the best time to go if you want to avoid the madness of water skiers and joy riders who quickly begin to show up as soon as the weather improves, which is usually at the beginning to mid April. The fish are a little smaller at the beginning of the year but I find they taste better because the water is so much cooler than say May or June. Good luck

Well I finally made it out there on Saturday. Weather acted up and wasn't a very nice day. We fished for about 5 hours and couldn't get anything biting. Trolling jigging drifting. I couldn't figure it out.

Were the coho rising? First time out there was a miserable weather day. But saw the coho rising so fished krill under a float and I've honestly never had so much fun lol. Even in the wind and rain. I've only been there 4 times. Two March's in a row, once in April and once last October. No kokanee. I think I'm missing something on that lake too. Could be my timing

Not even much for coho rising on the lake. I didn't try any float fishing. Well I'm in abby so I think I'll try it some more and figure it out. Gotta put in the time

When I was a kid we would fish with a small shrimp with a sinker. It seemed the fish did laps of the lake because every 20 minutes everyone in the boat would get a fish on. After 2-3 hours we all had our limits.
