Early season spring bears around Bamfield?

    Hi gang,
I'm itching to get out, and have a few days at Easter. I know it's way too early in the season, but that's the time I've got. Thinking about taking the quad (or boat) to the Bamfield area for spring bears. Is there any point? Any tips? Recommended road camping spots? Poett's Nook is still closed, I think. Seems like it might be fun to just putt-putt around logging roads and trails with the spotting scope looking for black dots to stalk up on. Am I nuts? I'm probably nuts.

Once they are out, they have a hell of a stomach ache from last falls berries, so they are eating grass and drinking water to get the digestion system going,
deactivated logging roads, watch for bear shit, hide behind a stump, scan the clear cuts late in the day, they come out, can’t miss em they are blacker than black

As tempted as getting out early was when I use to hunt bears. I never went for a meat bear till the dandelions are out.
No one on their death bed ever said; I should have spent more time at work.
