    Love my Islanders too. At one point I had a cool bakers dozen. Down to a couple MR2’s, 1 MR2AR and 2 Steelheaders. My dad has quite a collection of the LA reels with a bunch of spare spools.

    I did my machinist apprenticeship 20 years ago with a fellow working at JS Foster building the reels. Met the owner back then on a tour of the shop and was offered a couple factory seconds at a great price. Great deal on his part because I was hooked after that and spent a fortune on more of them.

    They don’t get much use these days with living in Fort McMurray. I have a trip planned for Hardy this coming July so the two MR2’s will get a workout...
