Maybe , but I understand the fumes coming off it could be deadly . I would definitely burn it hot while outside... see how much it warps esp the door and burn the finish off the pipes . If that's ducting at the bottom it will melt and you will know

Totally agree on burning hot to burn the paint. I'm worried about the duct pipe for regular use. They were never intended to be used with that kind of heat.

Beware! the burnt galvanizing of off the pipe will make you sick as well as the paint .You might want to get real stove pipe.Canadian tire has it

Dont mean to be a downer just dont want you or your son to get sick .Zinc oxide from burnt galvanizing can make you real sick ,flu like symptoms.

^^^^good to know, thank you....yes I plan on burning it hot a few times before using it in the tent....is the zinc oxide a coating that will burn off like the paint??

Yes it is. Its more of a problem at welding temperatures, not so much at wood fire temps, but why take a chance
get it red a couple f times, see how it stands up.

^^^^good to know thanks....no green smoke at all...got it super hot by burning it in my fire-pit outside, got all the paint off, then scraped off any remnants after that....just got the tent finally, and burned it with a CO detector inside as well....
