    Thank you. I hit him in the front of the shoulder, where I was aiming. Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture, I caught him in the cheek on the way in.

    Congrats nice deer sure would have looked neat if could have saved the velvet but pretty hard to do.

    Thank you. I’ve shot a few bucks in velvet but never been able to salvage it. Maybe it’s just my luck, but they always seem to take a tumble and damage it. This buck I decided to get a bit artsy and gave the antlers some colour and mounted them on a piece of drift wood I found.

    Looks great. Too bad about the face shot.
    As for velvet, it's hard to keep if its steep high country. They always tumble and mess it up.

    What did the buck end up scoring?
