I find there are way more animals hiding really close to home, like 2 to 15 mins
2-7 hrs away and i'm in the LML
I live in Abbotsford. I've tracked recent sign, caught on game cams or actually seen big game (except grizzly) within 2hrs of home.
Day trips , 45 min to 1 hr. Camp trips 12 hrs or more . On day trips, not uncommon to see a dozen or more other hunters, so we leave early to get to a blind or lookout before daylight.
Grandpa used to say, "ya know, when you point your finger at someone , three of your fingers are pointed back at you."

some days I feel adventurous and go 40 minutes from home,,, most of the time it is way less than that. Moose hunting is different.
XPEIER
Black bear about 2.5-3 hours. Typically stay 1-3 nights. I day hunt blacktail locally but the better deer hunting is usually a boat ride to get their so usually stay a week.
Oliver, when I first moved here 16 years ago I was about 38 seconds from a good shooting area. Deer,Elk,Moose, coyotes, had them all right on my acreage. Moved into town a couple years ago after my heart attack and now I'm about 15 minutes away.
Pull the trigger all the way back.
