Most times right from my kitchen window but usually within 10 miles of my house.

Does the muzzle blast rattle your collection of Royal Dalton tea cups??
If we’re not supposed to eat animals, how come they’re made out of meat?

    Re: How far from home?

I used to hunt 5 mins from the door, then moved to Whiterock, so now it’s 10-15 mins for waterfowl but 3 hours or more for bigger game. I’m going to look at another acreage tomorrow the would allow me to hunt from the minute I walk out the door. I COULD shoot from the kitchen window, but I think it would irritate my wife even more than my usual behaviour does...

Lol. If my kitchen boss caught me shooting from the house she'd boot me right square in the ball bag. To make it sporting i spot from the house then typically start the tractor then lean on a fence post.

I used to be able to shoot out the door and have done for coyotes and other pests but for hunting its the cameradery and camping that makes it wortwhile. Bagging meat is secondary to having a good time.Usually drive 6 hrs to camp.

From Sept 10-dec10 I put 25000 kms on the hunting rig. It was a long season of finding only other hunters.

live in PG and 99% of my hunting is north of pine pass up up to FSJ area, and down to Tumbler

I only hunt rabbits and grouse with the dogs close to home, everything else is a road trip
Unfortunately, the rifles are getting lighter because we are getting heavier and more unfit as a society. This is the key to the mainstream acceptance of the short magnums. - Nathan Foster
