Great post! Refreshing to hear a great hunt with a great outcome! Congrats!
I like drinking beer and whiskey, shooting guns, jetboating, love a nice rack and a tight line, I am simply a sophisticated redneck...

I might have to write up a story on my many elk hunting failures that led up to my buzzer beat bull.

It's good to have some hunting stories on this site. I always enjoy reading other people's stories.
Almost like a journal entry for me so I can remember how not to **** up next year

I'm really itching to go goat hunting again.
Had a couple good trips to the south end of Chilko Lake, but that was many years ago and time is running out for these old legs.
    Maybe next year!

I am definitely hooked on the hunt.

Dragged my friend and mentor out for a goat hunt. He's in his 60s now and diabetic. I carried his rifle and all the weight and he made it up the mtn. Was a tough climb but we took it easy. We got into position but we were too close. He stood for the shot, but white filled his scope and by the time he took the shot the billie had turned. Clean miss and the day was done.

He was unhappy with himself but that's another memory that he can tuck away.
He still talks about that day.

If you can, get out there before it's too late.

I should have my goat pretty soon here from Lino (taxidermist). Will share the pics when it's done.
