Great comments. They are a nice read.

I definitely got lucky with this hunt. Billie of a lifetime no doubt.

We thought he was 12 as well. Lino tried counting from the front of the horn. He pegged him at 10. I think if he counted on the back side he would've gotten a larger number. The front seemed pretty weathered and worn down. Not sure if it really matters and I wasn't going to recommend that he recount.

If he is measured properly I'll follow up with the details.

Isn't that awesome. Friend had my kowa spotter and was holding his cell to take the pics. No phone scope.

I was very happy that he had those pics for me.

    Yup. Definitely not elk hunting!

Thankfully the meat is quite good. Has that goat smelled but you don't taste it and the smell does burn off. My father in law made some sausage and it's dynamite.

That's the way I see it too. Would be nice to know the exact details but I don't 'need' to know them.

Who or what is "Lino"? Is he the CI? .... and you're telling me the CI couldnt be sure? Thst doesn't make sense. I'd be going to a different CI from now on. Lol!

Wow, epic, great story for an early a.m. read, and a great goat too, attago
Great read of how your point of view changed, keeping up the will to hunt
The part about calling made me laugh out loud, great, thanks for sharing

I let my partner know that stalking in was not an option and that I would try calling him.
    ..................
So we laughed about this after but I set out on calling in my goat like any good elk hunter would.
    .............
So I started kicking the ground like I was digging out his bed. Kicking dirt off the cliff to make noise, thumping the ground hard with my boot and just scraping loudly at the ground.
Never say whoa in the middle of a mud hole
