Wow, my perception of bears, running downhill, trees, and safety is now gone. The speed is unbelievable! Those bears would give a lumberjack climbing a pole a run for their money!
There should be sound to that old video. It is a sow Griz. chasing a black bear.
If they want to get up a tree look out. From what I know a bear can run down hill as fast as it can on flat ground pretty scary
No human can out pace that momma either down the hill or up the tree. That's a strong reminder to respect the power and danger of these animals. Thanks for the post - I needed that.
Seen that video a couple years ago gave me a different perspective of what I use a as when the gun is shouldered and finger is on the trigger
I watched the vid a couple times. I'm not sure that is a grizz sow? She is definitely a fat sow, and black bear sows can be fierce when protecting cubs from boars! I was charged by a sow black bear many years ago, and she only turned away when the muzzle flash from my 12ga went past her head! Moosin

It's actually called the 375 "ouch and ouch"!!

Looking at the head of the sow, I'm pretty certain it's a black bear.
Yes young ones can,,,not so much,,old huge ones..
