Lol, what next? Getting a 1/2 mount of a big squirrel?
When in doubt, just pin it.

Better than a full mount from John Horgan!!!

Ganders in Surrey used to be a great place to deal with; just haven’t been there in a few years. They did an owl for me and it turned out great.

I'v had numerous birds done by Rick Gander and never been disappointed, does a great job. You'll have to tell your friend to expect to pay more for a waterfowl mount compared to a rapture or upland game bird mount because waterfowl have more fat and is more labor intensive (takes more time to get all the fat off the skin).

Pretty stupid reply to a reasonable question. Thanks for the helpful contribution.

I'm getting a FULL body mount done of this fine specimen!

Just for reference sake,,,,shot with a 177 pellet out of a savage Arms .22 caliber rifle, 4X scope at 15 yards,,,,,no rest!

ALSO: PM sent to OP about a taxidermist that does good work at a very good price! And quickly, too.

That's a pretty sweet off-hand shot. Did you have to track it, or was it DRT?

FYI, looks like it's in good condition, so a rug might be in order.

Didn't have to track it but I had to drag it a fair ways so one one side of his body had a bit of a rub on it. That part of it will be up against the wall according to the taxidermist so not a big issue.

Another Dumb Ass comment from I W.

    Good on your buddy.
Fur n Feathers , Ganders, are a couple in Surrey. Both used to do beautiful work.

What did your bud get, a Rare Drake Shoveler, Drake Woody? Big Northern Drake Mallard or Pin?

What blows me away is the Price of bird Taxidermy. 50 years ago we were doing them for 20 bucks lol. Roosters 25......
