    Waterfowl in the South Okanagan

Going to be there for a few days between Christmas and New Years. No idea if it's a viable spot for ducks/geese. Can't find much about the area online.

Willing to do some scouting and very new to this but my brother in law and I want to give it a shot. I'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask for a point or nudge to see if we are at all heading in the right direction. We'd also be happy to add to our twosome if anyone is local and wants to get out.

Don't think there will be much to be had in the South Okanagan during that time frame. Most of the waterfowl, Canada geese, will be congregating within city limits. Vaseux Lake holds a ton of waterfowl, problem is, it's a protected area. Nevertheless, good luck to you.

Thanks Mike. Found a spot near osoyoos this morning (after some scouting for a few days and a few calls to the authorities to make sure we were good to shoot) that housed a good amount of birds. Only got one but if I was a better shot would have had a few more!

Not sure what type of diving duck this is if anyone knows:

lol .. I had a comment like that one time I was walking out in Ladner and someone walking the dyke saw this little teal I had and said: "oh this one looks like it should be with its mommy". And I laughed and told her it was a fully mature teal. If I got a buffie I could stuff three of them in a pocket.

Gotta figure a 3 1/2" BB load weighs about the same as a teal! lol
