Thanks for the kind words. Hes a nice buck, and I think he deserves the shoulder mount, but i cant quite call him buck of a lifetime, yet.

My blacktail buck of a lifetime is still out there. I'm searching

That’s a beauty for sure. Those antlers are tree trunks! Ratherbefishing nailed it too. You took him out in his prime!

Great buck! Seeing posts of these blacktails and following old Proguide, instills a bit of a craving to one day hunt these critters. Congrats on a great year.
There was a time I thought all parties that cared for wildlife and habitat conservation could find common ground. I was wrong. Adapt....

Don’t know why it is but Blacktails are often found bedded down on the open rocks when it’s raining

Great buck. Awesome mass. I have come to the conclusion that waterproof rain pants are the biggest scam perpetuated on us outdoorsman. I lived in Squamish and Whistler for 12 years. I sure don't miss that rain but I miss the blacktail hunting. I like Kamloops, where I can watch it rain and drive around it.

It makes the buck i got look prepubescent. Respect! I also like the gear descriptions and reviews. Funny how mountaineering gear is still superior to that crap at Cabela's.

So how did you prepare the heart? Thanks a lot!
