    Packable Tripod for spotter

Does anyone have a recommendation on a decent packable tripod for spotting scope ?
I think they are also called Tabletop tripods .
Scope weighs a bit over 2 lbs
I believe it takes a 1/4 threaded post

Forget the mannfrotos $$$$$$$. Too much cash !

Second that on promaster. Port hunter recommended it to me and I love it so far. If you cheap out you’ll regret it.

I have the slick AM-025 with the center post removed and a VA-5 compact head. Very light and packable combo. Use it in conjunction with an outdoorsman bino adaper and my spotter. Solid enough and tall enough to glass while sitting. Works for me.

I'm on the taller side and wanted to be able to stand behind my binos so I went with a Slik 634. Light and a few inches taller than most when fully extended.

The promaster is a direct copy of the gitzo mountaineer at 1/3 the price. The 525 extends tall enough to stand behind.

That will be my next purchase. I looked at the Slik but wanted something lighter and smaller. However I had to give up on height and stability.

Arctic Lake, if you want to come check out my setup and give it a try shoot me a PM.

I tried that one first and I agree, it's a fantastic option. The extra couple inches of the 634 with a tall Outdoorsmans bino adapter I found was better for me. Maybe to help others decide, I'm 6'3" or so in my hunting boots.

Thank you for the offer Whitlers ! I’m getting into a time crunch trying to wrap up a couple of work things and getting ready to go this weekend . Also wanted to Thank You for the sight in location you gave me . Too bad about all the brass people leave . Picked up a bit of others that they left behind but did not have enough bags . Good Luck this season !QUOTE=whitlers;2204889]That will be my next purchase. I looked at the Slik but wanted something lighter and smaller. However I had to give up on height and stability.
