The road goes through some Nicola Ranch property that is posted and some is crown land. Its a very busy road in the summer all those rec sites fill right up, less so in the fall. I believe it is maintained by highways so no you can't shoot off the road, 15 metre rule applies. There are though minor roads and trails off of it that would be a better bet for hunting. Good luck..

Try the road going north to Englishman lake. It was being logged pretty good last time I was there, but it's got lots of walking areas.
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!
