    looking for a guide or hunting partner for fort st john area

    Good evening, i am in fort st john on a shutdown in taylor, i am hoping to go for some sort of animal either deer moose or elk after the job is done which for me is next thursday, split the kill 50/50 i have a 270 browning bare sights no scope, i have my pal, core, ammo, knives and a pickup truck, i am from campbell river and have never been to this part of the province before, any takers let me know.

    COVID has people scared. Honestly with FSJ's transient workers bringing in almost every COVID case, I don't blame them. I'd take them, but I'm too self conscious because I've had zero success in the area so far.

    From experience I can tell you that access around that area can be an issue. I used to have access to an area that was 4 sections and held good deer numbers in the taylor area. The land was leased to a friend who had exclusive rights to hunt there. Good Luck

    Open sights on large game? No doubt it can be done but time to invest in some optics imo.

    If you can call a moose in to kill it with a bow you will be able to shoot 40 yards with a gun, no?

    I have a good friend in Ft St John, lived and hunted there for many years. every year there is less and less area's to hunt. Hard to distinguish crownland from private including oil lease. Have a good overlay if you use hunt buddy or a GPS. Suggest going farther north. Ft Nelson and area.

    I am up here working but I don’t finish until the first couple days of October if you are still up here I am heading out for 4-7 days
