Hmm 2 years ago i harvested a mature deer in Alberta near Sask. Border
    Submitted it for mandatory testing.
    Deer looked fine.
Deer tested positive and then did the action start..within HOURS conservation officer responded to our home to remove the meat to be incinerated.
I was impressed with rapid complete response.

A buddy had the exact same scenario. He got a 2020 muley tag free, if he wishes to go again

Rocksteady are you sure he got a Muley Tag free. Alberta stopped doing that. Quite a few reasons and one of the reasons is guys are killing them every year in CWD hotspots, They get to keep the antlers and do not have to deal with the meat. Then return to kill another the following year ....

Theres lots of studies on Deer and CWD going on, surveys etc. Might be some changes coming in the future ......

They still haven’t any proven animal to human cases yet and hopefully they don’t. The virus transfers in saliva, milk and feces. It’s been 53 years since they first detected cwd and it’s worked it’s way up to Canada with a case/farm in Quebec too. All cervids are susceptible to this disease and there aren’t any real control measures against it short of reporting.
