    Deer trail? Bear trail?

I found a trail with some bear shit when scouting. Can I assume this would only be used by a bear or do multiple animals share trails? In an area with a dense black bear population do black bear and deer cohabitate or do they steer clear of one another?

They will use the same trails. Was there no other tracks on the trail.

I didn’t see any tracks I think it was hard packed. Just a narrow trail cut through the moss far enough away from where people.

    Thank you!

All animals use game trails. Some you can see have been cut out of the forest over years and years of natural use from everything out there including us.

My Camera on a well used hiking Trail shows Hikers, Grizzly Bears, Black Bears, Moose, Elk & Wolves on the same Trail and some within minutes of each others. Tracks are hard to recognize on the hard packed section of this Trail.

    Cheers

Depends on the trail. Does it look like a wide tunnel through the bush? If so that’s a bear trail for sure, but it doesn’t mean shorter deer won’t use it.
