    Netting the Vedder

Well seems its going to happen coming the 16th July to Aug a net fishery in the lower River . I dont think that small run can take that pressure just seen it on Facebook . Sad day for the fish ! I wonder how many will make it to the Hatchery.

They are lining up to buy the surplus. It will never get better till everyone stops buying fish from the stewards.
The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.
The worst day slinging lead is still better than the best day working.
Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"

No market no need, truer works seldom spoken!!
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!

Well - you know - that traditional selling of salmon from pickup trucks. It's ceremonial.

So, I'm pretty open to folks having 'traditions'. But, my kids come home from school and tell me how the First Nations use all of the animal and respect the land etc - and I ask them is it traditional ceremony to sell salmon out of a pickup truck when no one else is allowed to fish because they're almost gone?

I have to say - even my 'liberal', vegan, 14 year old daughter tells me - 'dad, it's not fair to have different rules for separate groups - we're all Canadian'.

Supposedly there’s another opening at the end of September into October.....the main channel of the river will be 50ft wide by then. Half a dozen nets will be catastrophic. The Chehalis is getting the net treatment as well. I wonder what percentage of their netting license fees goes towards fisheries management??
