Retrospection 7-23 D
Zone 7-23D
Dry Land:
From Bear Lake, as long as you can find it, use Chucinka FSR
Expect no phone service . Take extra fuel.
Last year everybody with a draw arrived same time ( second half of September)
There is not much places to set up a camp close to the roads on both sites of a river. First come first serve on the few comfy spots.
if there is no rain Moose will come down to the Missinka river daily.
The river is a meeting spot. You might miss the rendezvous bc of your timing but eventually the moose will be there.
Setting up early on the roads, on both sites, might be a factor to your success.
The bush is dense. Expect close range, no distance shot on the road. Bears will take care of guts and a hide; sometimes same day service.
There is a plateau close to Chuchinka FSR you might decide it could be
worth to stop and glass for few hrs.
Water:
Arctic Pacific Lakes Provincial park is an open, wide access to a launch a boat.
Traveling up and down Arctic Creek is popular. Watch water level . the MU 7-23 is divided for A and C at this point.
carroty color:
" Imagine U R a deer and U leaning in to take a drink from the pond on a peaceful day. and then all of a sudden BAM! A bullet rips of half of your face. Now tell me, would you care what color pants the mother *@&%er that shot you was wearing!?"
