This is just to the south of where Gunner got her California bighorn sheep last September. Not very far away and could have a huge impact on the herd for years to come.

UPDATE 11:10 p.m.
The BC Wildfire Service has issued its last update of the night.
They say the most recent 1,000-hectare size estimate has been determined after the fire's perimeter was tracked this evening.
"Twenty-one firefighters will remain on site overnight constructing control lines. Structure protection will also remain on site over night. Additional resources will be arriving on site throughout the day tomorrow," BCWS said on Twitter.
Castanet will have its next update on the fire shortly after 6 a.m.

Dangerous side of the valley for water bombers and other aircraft as well. Severe downdrafts claimed a plane long while back with RCMP officers on board doing a search for a murderer in early August of 1958.

I feel sorry for the 809 leh sheep hunter ,alot of 809 getting burnt. That area needs another burn though..

As far as wildlife goes, it will have a huge positive impact on the sheep herds there. That place will be showing green new growth in a matter of weeks. The bighorns in this area desperately needed some habitat enhancement and they're getting it in a big way.

Sheep will be just fine. It's not like they haven't seen this rodeo time and time again.
This area is the hottest in canada with the least amount of precipitation so annual fires are simply part of that program.
Tag holders shouldn't have a problem unless access is being denied come Sept.

My personal grief is I am going to get some trail cams melted

His problem is that he recently had 3 trail cams disappear with the denuding of a forest. Now some more.
