There are a couple other threads on the site that discuss the issue of 12 ga shotguns being banned. There is a message on the Canadian firearms Program for the RCMP that explains that 10 and 12 ga shotguns are not over 20mm. To see if they are truly banned, you could consult the FRT(Firearms reference Table) classification on that particular model.

The honorable minister Bill Blaire is on record saying no shotguns were banned. If something happens and you get in trouble, I would think that you could call him as a defense witness on your behalf....

Your shotguns aren't banned. Anyone with vintage 8 gauge shotguns or 4 bores are banned.
Knowledgeable shooters agree- The 375 Ruger is the NEW KING of all 375 caliber cartridges. ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!

You are fine. Go on the RCMP firearms page. There is a bulletin explaining how the 20mm restriction/prohibition does not apply to most 10 and 12 gauge shotguns.

Re: announcement of a firearms prohibition

The thing is, by the letter of the OIC it says nothing about not banning shotguns. It was only when Blair was embarrassed because the wording is too broad that he put out assurances that the government didn't mean shotguns. He may not have intended that but the wording is still broad.

And even since he and the RCMP put out those interpretations, the RCMP firearms lab has changed the FRTs on many additional firearms including some shotguns including the Typhoon Mk12. It is the one that looks like an AR-15 but has nothing to do with the AR-15. In fact the older FRT explicitly said it only resembled an AR-15.

Here's some more on the FRT changes:

"The RCMP’s updated list, however, does outlaw a number of four-gauge shotguns under the 20mm provision, including the Webley & Scott Wild Fowl Gun, a bird hunting firearm; the single-shot Duck Gun made by W.W. Greener, an English manufacturer; and the obscure Russian-made TOZ, among others. A number of other 12-gauge semi-automatic shotguns are now prohibited under the new FRT."
