That was pretty awesome... humorous too with some of the whistling and calling LOL

I thought for a second you were just going to decide "screw it" and just walk up to him for a better look (we've all been there)

Tough to tell about the size from the video. Bears all look pretty tiny at a distance on camera unless you have some serious optical zoom. Around 4:13-4:15 we have a look at how it runs and it doesn't run like a tank. Looks like a smaller bear, maybe 150lbs? I could be way off. You were there. What would you guess?

I would say not a very big bear. Probably made the right call.

Great job on seeing this many bears.... I shot a bear once and won't ever agin..Just a personal choice... I am not against it at all. One thing I can tell you is I now can't wait til deer, moose or elk season

That second one looked decent. It's hard to tell with those kind of sports cams, kinda looks like flattened fish eye video and obviously no zoom. When I see a bear that looks like it's 50-70 yards away but still looks a little more significant that a squirrel, I think that is a significant bear, over 200... maybe 250lbs. The excitement from the kid is absolutely priceless. You can tell he's having a good time and will remember these bear encounters forever.

Great work getting out there, having a good time with the kid, seeing quite a few bears and being patient holding out while looking for the one that you want.

Thank you for bringing us along and sharing the videos too. If you have a point-shoot camera with at least 8X optical zoom you'll be able to haul in some pretty darn good footage too in case the memories fade. If not, they're only around $100-150.

Through the binos he looked quite decent....old tired face...all gray...odd looking right eye .....big butt...made me think it could be a sow.
I use my sons GoPro7......It's awesome for diving and skiing but not the best for this kind of action I noticed as well....What would you recommend ?
