    Bear stock

Well after years of thinking about it, I harvested my first black bear. I have all sorts of ideas for recipes and now have the bear processed and in the freezer. One thing I was wondering about was making stock from the bones. I have taken to doing this with all ungeltes I have taken later but never really hear much about people making stock from bear bones.

Do any of you guys do this? Any reason not to try?

    Thanks

    I’m interested also.

try it and see how it turns out. Carrots, onions and celery are cheap and worthy of the experiment.
Fire up the pot and see how it turns out.

I’ve read that toasting the bones in the oven helps with the flavour.
