The mountains are calling and I must go - John Muir
I’ve always used a SIL tarp, although the silex by seek outside is next on my to buy list

yep, pretty tough to beat a sil tarp. Compact, light, and used by most mountain hunters.
These tarps are not to bad. A little cheaper than a sil and about half again as heavy, but tough. I used one on a goat hunt a couple years back "tarp tent shelter" and was quite happy with it.

Also a perk to the sil tarp. When you are up high with no water around you can lay it out and catch rain/dew...I've been able to extend my time on top a few extra days this way.
These work well and are multi purpose

My tracker works well too!
I like drinking beer and whiskey, shooting guns, jetboating, love a nice rack and a tight line, I am simply a sophisticated redneck...
Siltarp for sure.
