Boafeng advises on their site that their new radios are amatuer bands only, and aren't able to use the 150-151.67 MHz bands.
What cheap radios do people recommend for listening to FSR calls?
Thanks!

If you do a search on here for forest service radio's, theres lots of threads on here.
I have a boafeng I use on fsr in my sxs. I also have a fixed mounted radio in my truck the range of the boafeng is not the best but for 10km range works well
Get a good radio and dont worry about it
I have 3 kenwoods, no complaints
I run TAD M10 radios in everything.
I have the bf 8's from Baofeng.
All good here, and once programmed, get all the RR channels to listen in on.
I have a wouxun unit. Works well, hits RR frequencies. Front face programmable.
The only thing I like as much as trucks, is guns.
Icom works well for the price
Icom BC-213 is what I have, basic model, they programmed it for me, all the RR channels I need for region 3-8....250 bucks.
If I wanna go to region 7 and dodge traffic they will program those channels you require for free.
I am in the bush everyday dodging logging trucks etc, works good.
Step up to the next model was 400 bucks IIRC, you can have more channels and program it yourself.
