    A favorite in my box

I made this fly a long time ago. Saw a dark colored stonefly that was a little different than normal. Anyways, This pattern I created is my searching/stonefly bug. Takes some time to tie though so I cry when I lose one LOL. If nothing is hatching and not much action is happening I will toss one of these on and it generally proves itself worthy.

Trying to get the best pictures I can with my phone, its tough as my normal camera bit the dust

Very nice tie. Good luck with it this season.
Finland is a neutral country - but the guns point to the east.

Destroyed elbow years ago had to give up on real fly fishing. So I've been trolling with a fly mostly the last 25 years, maybe some short or role casting in a small river or creak. A favourite in my box is a black gnat with white wings, Dolly Varden and Arctic grayling up north seem to love them. Trolling, the fairways back of the canoe late in the evening on the shaded side of the lake works well.
No one on their death bed ever said; I should have spent more time at work.

While Steelhead fishing this week on the Vedder my fishing buddy fished out a emerging Stonefly, might be time for the Spey boys to flick out a Stonefly nymph. It was maybe a inch long.
