Are they good eating?
The 7lb to 12lb lake trout are the best eating. I have yet to smoke one. They are rich in oil and fat so they smoke very well. I have smoked 100's of pounds of other fish in the past 20 years, just not lake trout.
I rate them in the top 5 fresh water fish.
Now I need some manual downriggers to go after them in the summer.
