Srupp has contributed time and knowledge to more hunters on this forum than anyone else I can think of, and I can think of a few amazing people that have contributed a lot.
I was about to say this but you beat me to it. I personally have not had interactions directly with Srupp but I have seen how much he contributes and supports others on this site for quite some time.

I think some people need to just chill the f out and take some humor for what it is. Srupp is stand up and should not have to defend himself considering how much he has helped others over the years.

With that said, let's get some dates slotted and go count some sheep!

X2. While you may not agree with his comment in this thread, there is no shortage of us on here who can vouch for his level of insight over the years.

He has helped many people get many animals. Puddlejumper, you're a relatively new member on here ... stick around and you WILL learn a thing or two from Srupps years of knowledge and experience.

Back slowly away from both your war drum and your keyboard there chief!
You personally have not contributed even a single percentage point here of what Steve has over the years.
Until you do, put a sock in it Pocahontas.

Fortunately, the number of posts a person makes does not correspond to experience when it comes to hunting. Unfortunately I don't think I would learn anything from srupp as he seriously hasn't said anything that positively contributes to hunting for sometime.

That being said, I will admit I fell into the trap when I reacted to srupps stupid comment rather than focusing on the sheep count(s) which is what I was interested in learning about when I first saw this post and to tdot I apologize.

Bears have been spotted on the slopes at Spences during the count, but no one gets excited about running over to whack one )

Often the hillsides have already turned green enough that the sheep are up into the hills and out of sight.
Talked to local farmers and they agree...the sheep are in and around their farms, often in large bands, till just before
the annual counts after which they break up into smaller more dispersed groups.
The date for the count has flexed around somewhat over the years, some more winter-like than spring
At one time the April date was chosen to fit in with other weekend commitments/club partnering/conventions/pairing with other counts/predictable weather/gun shows/ ad nauseam
It is what it is and being consistent has its value in data collecting also

Wrong (fell into the trap again) again.
I am not sure what planet you came from.
For sure Srupp does not need me or anyone else to speak for him, but as a junior member myself, I find Srupps one of the best contributors and most valuable sources for hunting on this site. Just ask and he is there (if not i the bush).
Little bit of respect for his contribution in general would not hurt.
just tell me you are trying to be funny

It corresponds to your credibility on this site.
First of all, I doubt you have 40+ years of hunting experience like he does.
Second, you've been a member here for barely 2 years. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Just because you didnt stumble across a thread where he offers advice doesnt mean advice wasnt offered. Again, maybe stick around longer and you'll see how wrong you are.
