Here is a young Buck I got for the freezer on Tuesday,

Although I have taken many Deer over the years this one is special because it is my first solo Deer, all the others have been on trips with my Old man or here locally with him and there will be many more solo animals as time goes on

When I bumped into him it was definitely a weird feeling knowing that he was obviously listening to my Elk calls and on his way up. He had long legs looked like a super strong Grizz small ears and his tail was almost inverted he was big, good thing he took off down hill I also killed a Wolf there last month
Crazy...the pics I posted of the sow and yearling griz a few pages back were about 200 yards from us when we were calling elk and they couldn't care less.. maybe the griz you had the encounter with was a lone boar?

I definitely think it was a lone boar he was alone, he may have not been interested in the calls can't know for sure. But he was pretty close and he was no doubt hearing the calls, I think he was coming up to check them out when I think back on it

How are you cooking the heart? I've had goat heart and it was cooked like stew meat. Are you doing anything different? Thanks for posting.

I sliced it thick and pan fried it with garlic butter, olive oil, onions, garlic and montreal steak spice and basil/thyme
