Do you try and get above sheep and look down on them? I’m changing my tactics this year and I know a spot I could go to a flat peak/ridge and look down in several bowls. Ive hiked several of the bowls from the bottom to the top and seen rams/ewes in all of the bowls and on top. I think I’m going to setup up camp near the top and day hike from there.
I watched from below this one ewe with a bunch of yearlings behind her. She perched up on a rock and watched over the bowl for at least an hour, probably longer. I just laid down and enjoyed the scenery. I had another small band of ewes behind me. When the babies dropped down to feed I made a move up to the top bowl and scouted around to the peak. Not a great picture but these guys walked right by me without too much cares in the world for the night. I thought it was interesting to watch their behaviour and how the family u it works. She was definitely watching over the other family’s kids.
