OK here's a question for you all: take note on the times on the above T-cam pics: take into account this area is within about 1 km from town - would you think this buck is dead meat? Or given the fact that he knows the chase is on (he looks to be running in the pic), do you think he got away? Everyone feel free to chime in based on your observations and experience..

Based on the pictures the deer is fine but since you say close to town and if this is a any buck season then there is a good chance he will be killed heck if its a 4 point only season there is a chance he will be killed.
Cougars miss rate on a kill is a lot higher then there success rate, and in many areas there if they do make a kill there odds of keeping it can be quit low as well.
Personally dont know if i have ever seen where one perches up on something and pounces, best way to see what they do is get out and follow them around.
