I'v really enjoyed reading this thread, lots of good opinions on the different hunting breeds and everyone is going to argue that the breed that they've chosen is the best all round bread. A few years ago I was lucky to be invited to go along on a pheasant hunting to eastern Montana, we stayed at a large motel in the small town of Plentywood, there was an other motel of equal size as well, they were both booked solid by hunters. For nominal fee you could have your dog in your room, so first thing in the morning when everybody was getting ready to go hunting you can just imagine all the but sniffing going on while you tried to get to your vehicle. I'v never seen as many different hunting bird dogs breeds, there were lots of different Pointers, Setters, Spaniels, every colour of Labs, Chesapeake's and if you were going to ask the hunters which bread was the most versatile I'm sue they would all say that it was the dog at the end of their leash. LOL.
