A family tradition of ours is to watch A Christmas Story every Christmas Eve. In the movie, 'You'll Shoot Your Eye Out' is a very common line. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recomend it. It is a Classic! As to why the line in this thread, well it looks like this ram did indeed 'shoot his eye out'. If you look in the photos he is missing an eye. Been that way for several years now and doesn't seem bothered by it. His body mass is still huge and he had no problem rutting like the King on the Mountain.

This elk lost his too, but it looks like he has it worse. It looks like it got infected, big time. I'm no expert, but that can't feel good.
