California Legalizes Eating Road Kill

Last week California legalized eating roadkill...

And on a side note... California just became became the first state to ban the sale of new fur clothing, starting in 2023.. Interesting times ahead...

If you eat road kill, you already were doing it and now it's just more legal.

I’m not saying I’d pull up to a random carcass and dig in, but if I were the one that hit it, or saw it get hit, and it didn’t turn into a meat grenade, I’d be tempted to drag one home. If the animal is only hit at the front or rear end, it’s pretty wasteful not to.

I’ve been lucky and was allowed to take 2 road killed animals. One cow elk and one cow moose, both hit with in 50yds of each other. Cop shot the elk( broken hip ) and the moose died upon impact. Elk had a cantaloupe sized bruise on the hip that was broken and the impacted ribs on the moose were destroyed. Lots of good meat was salvaged from the two animals.

I pulled up right after the cop shot the elk and I came upon the moose 30min after it was hit.
