    E-Scouting - Resources

    Hi Folks,

I just wanted to share a few resources I have found lately:

    https://bcforestmap.com/

^^ This one is great - it shows you the type of trees in each area, how old they are, as well as the age of surrounding cutblocks.

    https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories...c179d77ba4e289

^^ An activist website that gives you good information when looking for younger clear cuts.

    https://en-ca.topographic-map.com/

    ^^ Basic Free topographical information

Anyone have any other resources that are useful?

Good thread Dan, I'll add to it:

    EOS Landviewer
    https://eos.com/landviewer/

Once you sign up you can view very recent satellite imagery, I find the Sentinel-2 L2A images the best. Not as clear as google earth but you can find imagery in the last couple of days.

    Zoom earth https://zoom.earth/maps/satellite-hd...=2023-11-08,pm
Mostly for weather, which I use just about every day. But satellite HD not super sharp, but can show you where the snow is or where lakes are frozen. You may have to scroll back a couple of days sometimes maybe a week to get a clear view, you can go back as far as the year 2000.

And for any lucky dogs going on a far away trip somewhere hot and sunny you can follow all the tropical storms around the world.

No one on their death bed ever said; I should have spent more time at work.
