Grizzlies Near Kelowna

Grizzlies near Kelowna? Hey all, just heard the other day from a couple guys that they spotted a grizzly up in the grey stokes area somewhere. I havent seen a grizzly in the kelowna area in about 10 years or so. How common are they?

They’re definitely around not huge numbers but they’re around there for sure

I seen an article about a grizzly with a trap stuck on its paw hp near Big White a couple months back as well.

Hmmm very famous photo of a guy named Henry..waaaaay up a big ol tree with a big ol grizzly snapping at his heels..was in Courier ?
Someone forgot to tell the bear they are not supposed to be able to climb...lol

Plenty of grizz and increasing in numbers in recent years from my observations.

Have witnessed them this year between Falkland Vernon and kelowna.

have had 5 sightings in3 years personally.

Wow, I find it quite interesting how many sightings there have been recently. Numbers must be slowly increasing in the okanagan. I wonder if it has at all to do with there being No LEH season any more. Although the only area near here they ever had draws for were in The Monashee mountains.

Saw 4 over 2 weekends a few years back. Saw lots of sign of them this last weekend as well

Saw one up near Beaver Lake a couple of years ago and 4 up in greystokes a few years before that
