Just when I thought it was safe.

To go hunting. That is a 2 3/4 inch shell.

This is a 5 1/2 year old grizzly. There are 2 of them near. There is also 2 4 1/2 year olds hanging around. The item on the menu is rosehips.
All the black bears seen so far were small ones, or were acting strange like in I have cubs strange. Looking back all the time!!

Got to love the old Imperial IVI Shotshell. High brass uncommon to todays loads. Love it. Is that a paper casing too. I got a wack of them myself to go through. Lol. Makes for heavy target loads. I asume you have the Slug load there being your favourite G Bears are around.

The grizz who done it was smaller. Near Ward Creek north of Gang.
We saw fresh grizz tracks by the creek sandy shore.
Eve didn't want to hunt near the area!

This is crazy! I had an area full of black bears in the interior last year (porcupine). I pulled a nice one just under 18". Droppings all over and all size of tracks. Nothing this year. I thought a big boar chased them out, now I think it may be a grizz. Gonna need to be extra cautious on the solo trek this year...

My freezer needs meat. No moose draw = bears beware.
Actually a pack of 6 wolves erased the local black bear population during the winter. They smell them and go in the den and kill them and eat them.
I used to see 30 black bears. Now I am lucky to see 1.

Interesting. My dad lives outside horsefly and he's seen more black bears this year than ever. Saw a big boy (250 lbs plus) just by his place when I was up there last week.

What does grizzly bear taste like? Whitehorse guy says is it more like pork than black bear is.
