    Deutsch Drahtaar

    Hello all.
I have decided that my next hunting partner will be a Draht.
Any insight to Canadian breeders would be greatly appreciated.

I am in the Merritt area and have experience with gun dogs and training.

We recently lost our Lab, EnVee, and GWP, Griffin before their time.
I also have owned and trained a Springer, a couple more Labs and a
    Deutsch Wechtlhund.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Great choice!

Due to the decisions of some provinces and some provincial veterinary associations banning tail docking, the number of breeders in Canada is declining.

However, in Saskatchewan it is still ok to dock and there is a breeder there. Andrea is planning a litter this fall.

Also, there are lots of kennels in the US. Most litters hit the ground in the spring. Here are the litter announcements in the US:

    Good luck.

I got a DD pup from Vom Slaney Vale, 6 wk ago after losing my GWP in June. Got lucky and Hugh had a cancellation on a male pup at 5wks. Has a great website, is himself a great person to deal with, and his website shows his diligence and commitment to the breed. Now hair straight back pup is 14 wks and we are in training. The VDD Canada breeder site shows Sask. breeder mentioned has a Vom Slany Vale dog. Good luck

I have a GWP (from Minnesota). I talked to a guy in the surrey area with a DD. If you need I could dig for his phone number. Was a nice guy.

I've seen 2 PP's. Damn nice looking dogs. Looked to behave a lot like the GWP.

    Have fun!

I got a PP out of Cedarwoods in boise she is a rockstar on water fowl as well as upland. She also scored a perfect 112 prize 1 in her navhda na test with very little training. She is also very chill in the house
