    Cow Elk Attacked by Cougar

Talking recently with another HBC member, who had sent me some of his cam pics, and showing me pics of elk, especially
cow elk with calves etc, the comment to me was that they have "survived the spring" (calfing season), which is where
many of us feel game #'s are lost at.
However, I had replied that I was hearing stories and first hand, that some cow elk were losing there calves just before
    or around hunting season.
They had calves all summer, and then gone.

Anyways, stumbled across this FB cam photo that just came up and thought I would share the link.
I do not think I am allowed to post it? (I would!) even though it is available to everyone (if I can, let me know):

Looked like a small cow or last years calf, looked like a wallow just below the attack, a cat has to eat. Just nature being nature.

Yup, big cat just doing what it has to do.
Just thought it was a great example that not only wolves are a factor.
Also to point out, it's not just winter time or spring during the birthing season that ungulates are most vulnerable.
Seems like folks are getting some real great action shots of game being taken down during this time of year and it's Cats.
